Duralock and the Hong Kong Jockey Club

Horse racing as a sport started in Hong Kong in 1841 and the Hong Kong Jockey Club was founded in 1884. In 1971, it became a professional horse racing institution.

Today, the club is ranked as one the biggest and leading horse racing clubs in the world. The not-for-profit HKJC is the territory’s biggest employer with a staff of more than 26,000, its biggest taxpayer, accounting for more than 10 percent of the Hong Kong government’s income and by far its biggest charitable donor.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club's world famous racecourses are Happy Valley and Sha Tin. Happy Valley is surrounded by skyscrapers and looped by Hong Kong Island's famous tramline, the views are excellent; the atmosphere is electric and the racing is first-class. Sha Tin Racecourse is the home of the world's richest day of turf racing, the world's first retractable roof over a parade ring, and a Guinness World Record of the world's longest Diamond Vision Television screen in 2003.Since 1993, the Hong Kong Jockey Club has maintained an invaluable relationship with the British Horse Society (BHS), Beas River Equestrian Centre and Tuen Mun Public Riding School are BHS approved training centres. They undergo an additional specific inspection to ensure that the training provided to students meets the standard they have been approved to deliver.

Duralock Performance Fencing features at Happy Valley and will be winging its way over to Beas River this Thursday.
