At Duralock Sports, we understand the need for flexibility in community sports facilities. That’s why we were proud to partner with Tunbridge Wells Rugby Club to upgrade their existing pitch barrier system with a solution tailored to their unique challenges.
Previously, the club had a single, rusting metal barrier along one side of their first-team pitch, while the remaining sides were left open. Determined to improve safety, enhance aesthetics, and potentially generate revenue through advertising, the club explored alternative options.
Two key challenges emerged:
- The limited run-off area near the edge of the pitch.
- The close proximity of the cricket square on a shared ground with the local cricket club.
After discussions with their RFU representatives, the club was pointed in our direction. Our recommendation? Duralock’s Post and Rail Two System - with a smart twist.
We installed a permanent barrier system around three sides of the pitch, and a demountable version on the fourth side, located on the cricket outfield. This allows the barrier to be removed as needed during the cricket season, ensuring harmony between sports without compromising on quality or safety.
The new system not only elevates the pitch’s appearance and functionality but also provides the club with the ability to generate income through advertising boards, supporting future investment in local facilities.
We’re proud to support clubs like Tunbridge Wells RFC as they continue to build better, more adaptable community sports spaces.
