Duralock announces strategic partnership with The Jockey Club

Duralock has announced a new strategic partnership with The Jockey Club, establishing a closer, long-term approach to the management, maintenance and development of racing infrastructure across The Jockey Club’s racecourse estate.

The agreement builds on a long-standing relationship between the two organisations and will see Duralock work collaboratively with The Jockey Club’s central team and individual racecourses to provide greater visibility over future infrastructure requirements.

A long-term approach to racing infrastructure

As part of the partnership, Duralock will undertake regular reviews across The Jockey Club estate, helping racecourses identify maintenance requirements, future projects and areas requiring investment.

These reviews will support the development of forward programmes of work, including recommendations, budgets and project planning, allowing infrastructure investment to be considered and managed proactively rather than on a purely project-by-project basis.

The partnership will also provide a consistent commercial framework across The Jockey Club estate and bring together Duralock’s manufacturing, technical, installation and project support capabilities.

Jonathon McGovern, CEO of Duralock Group, said:

"The Jockey Club has been an important customer of Duralock for many years, so we’re extremely pleased to formalise and develop that relationship through this new partnership. For us, the real value is in working much more closely together. Rather than simply responding when a racecourse needs a new section of rail or a particular project delivered, we can look across the estate, understand what is likely to be required over the coming years and help The Jockey Club plan accordingly. It represents the direction we are taking Duralock more broadly – combining our manufacturing heritage with technical expertise, installation and longer-term infrastructure planning to become a genuine strategic partner to our major clients."

Supporting The Jockey Club’s racecourses, training grounds and estates

The agreement has been developed in collaboration with Sachin Kotecha and Sam Blackmore of The Jockey Club, alongside the Duralock team, with a shared focus on establishing a practical long-term framework that works both centrally and for individual racecourses. The partnership will benefit all 15 of The Jockey Club’s racecourses, as well as its training grounds and estates, supporting a more proactive approach to rail replacement programmes and creating opportunities to look ahead, trial and test new products being brought to market by Duralock.

Nadia Powell, Director of Strategic Delivery and Investments at The Jockey Club, said:

“The Jockey Club and Duralock have worked successfully together for many years in a collaboration that is underpinned by well-established relationships at racecourse level. This Group agreement will build on that and enable our racecourses and training centres to benefit further from the Duralock team’s expertise and support. The deal will benefit not only all 15 of our racecourses but our training grounds and estates, helping us to take a more proactive approach to rail replacement programmes. It will also give us the opportunity to look ahead, trial and test new products that Duralock is bringing to market."

Building on Duralock’s long-standing presence in British racing

Duralock manufactures its racing and equestrian infrastructure at its facility in Oxfordshire and has supplied racecourses and equestrian venues in more than 57 countries. The new agreement further strengthens Duralock’s long-standing position within British racing and creates a framework for the two organisations to work together on the continued maintenance and development of infrastructure across some of the UK’s most recognised racecourses. Duralock’s services extend from product design and manufacturing through to technical support, installation, maintenance and longer-term infrastructure planning.
